Well in the last couple of months, the Wetumka City Hall has been maned when I went there to pay my mother's electric bill. While that's nice in all I find it funny that the website that the City of Wetumka wants people to use once fixed stopped taking payments again. Either way, I was told that the City of Wetumka had to use the said Website and that made me wonder why? I was told this while making my mother's payment to East Central Oklahoma Family Health Center, Inc. for her bill there. It makes me wonder why or better yet by who is due to the fact the representatives of Oklahoma do not really care what happens in Wetumka. In fact, the last person that I talked to was the aid of a representative and he told me that he could do nothing due to the separation of powers. If it was due to some law, they pulled a Master Governor J. Kevin Stitt maneuver and finely started to follow the law in some way even though it was 30 years too late. Well actually he finely pushed a law even though it was 30 years too late but that is beside the point.
Now I don't think it was any of that but it would not surprise me if it was. Now, I think if they really had to use the said Website it was due to a contract with the new supplier. If that's the case then it would be nice to see the City of Wetumka supplement Wetumka with a small solar panel farm and maybe a wind turbine or two. The problem is that even if the City of Wetumka finds the land and builds these it will still charge the people the same price. Why would they do that you ask? Well, that's easy because the City of Wetumka relies on draining the people of Wetumka dry by any means necessary to help itself before it will help the very people it's hurting. I can only imagine what the people of Wetumka are going through right now when it comes to water since I live in low-income housing in Wetumka where the water is taken care of by the Wetumka Housing Authority. Better yet I can only imagine what the Wetumka Housing Authority is going through when it comes to ALL 60 Units (yes that is including the office of the Housing Authority) when it comes to Water in Wetumka.
I would like to say that I've seen it all in Wetumka Oklahoma but I can't say do that because I'll most likely see more questionable actions of the City of Wetumka in the years to come. I have been in Wetumka Oklahoma for 14 years and counting. Anyway don't have too much fun or at least try to. Try to have a good Thanksgiving.
You may or may not know that before Covid-19 I had a steady stream of IT work. Now I have to prove that I'm a Freelance IT Guy who wants work but has not gotten any in about 8 months. That means not only do I have to prove that I live where I live since I don't have the lovely star of David on my Drivers License, but I now have to prove that I have not gotten any work in months. I would hate to see how it's going when it comes to being homeless in Wetumka or anywhere else for that matter since it seems that all lovely government agencies seem to be broken on some level. I guess we can thank Master Biden, Master Harris, and maybe Master Stitt along with Master Drummond, Master Lankford, Master Mullin, Master Brecheen, and the Oklahoma House of Masters for this problem. I say that for the simple fact that if they wanted to help the people instead of trying to kill the people they would see they could get more done. That however would mean that would work for the people and not for themselves.
Maybe this is the time the people start taking the power back from the masters, but it will be hard to do since most if not all the people don't see the problems the masters are creating. It would have to be done in such a way that no one gets hurt. It would have to be done in such a way that shows the problems the masters are creating. It would have to be done in such a way that shows the masters who have the true power. This is why it will be hard to do on any level unless the people stoop down to the masters level which is not acceptable by any means. The people have to be better than the masters and treat everyone better than the masters treat the people. It will take some time to think of a way to fix this problem. Only time will tell what will happen next.
Two things about the City of Wetumka happen to be odd this month. Let's talk about the first odd thing which happens to be that the City of Wetumka wants to start charging the Wetumka Housing Authority for electricity. Now what is odd about that is the fact that the Wetumka Housing Authority is actually the City of Wetumka Housing Authority. That means the City of Wetumka wants to start charging itself for electricity since the Wetumka Housing Authority is part of the City of Wetumka on some level. It makes someone like me not want to take the City of Wetumka seriously that much more as it shows me that the City of Wetumka has no clue what it wants or does on any level. To find out that the City of Wetumka also made claims that “a lot of people have not been paying” also makes someone like me wonder who all has the City of Wetumka been giving a free ride to while they come down hard on the ones paying their bill to the City of Wetumka.
With that being said let's move on to the next odd thing happening this month. That would be cut-off notices have not been sent out yet. I say yet because we have not gotten one but it's also past the first of the month. This leads me to wonder if the City of Wetumka is finally having problems with the system they are trying to use. If that's the case then maybe they need to start self-hosting an invoice ninja server and tie it into strip for online payments at least. This shows the people of Wetumka that the City of Wetumka does not care about them. The only thing the City of Wetumka cares about is squeezing the people of Wetumka for all the money they have and by any means necessary. Other than that it's just another lovely month in Wetumka Oklahoma.
Some time ago I wrote about how being an Information Technology (IT) guy made me someone who has power in the world and why everyone needs to be nice to all of us IT guys. Today I'll be writing about why you should be nice to truckers for the same reason. IT guys can stop the world from working instantly due to how everything relies on data. Truckers can stop the world in a matter of days to about a couple of weeks. That means that all of you who bought all of that lovely toilet paper that you all were killing each other over during the COVID-19 problem was brought in by a trucker. However, it was an IT guy who made sure the trucker had all the data he/she needed to know where to take the lovely toilet paper that you all were killing each other over during COVID-19. That in turn means that if an IT guy didn't give a trucker the data or gave a trucker the wrong data the lovely toilet paper that you all were killing each other over during COVID-19 could have either not moved or gone somewhere it didn't need to go.
This in turn means that we IT guys can cause just as much of a supply chain issue as a manufacturer can if not worse. This also means that if there are no truckers then there is no supply chain at all except for maybe at the local level. One could also consider delivery drivers in the same boat as truckers but at the local level. Now at the local level, it is electricians, plumbers, and construction workers who have the power but they can only affect things at the local level so you might want to be nice to them too. Everyone else is just a person who can possibly manipulate people to get what they want on some level. The point I'm trying to make is the people who can make the world stop working are the ones who have the true power and the ones that try to use money or otherwise to stop the world are nothing.
You know there are times I wonder about the City of Wetumka. Let's first go with why the new system they have for taking payments is questionable. It's questionable because the City of Wetumka is dumping money into a system that seems to have problems in one form or another. Let's take the fact that it did not want to take a payment again. Yes, you read right it did not want to take a payment again. On top of that, I'm starting to wonder if that system is also the cause of all mother's problems when it comes to her debit card mysteriously getting locked by the bank. I say that for the simple fact that she didn't have any problems with it until the City of Wetumka started switching to the new system. Why I say that is for the simple fact that the last time she had problems with her debit card was right around the time she tried to make a payment to the City of Wetumka last month since everything was before that attempt.
That makes me wonder if we are the only ones having problems with the system the City of Wetumka has put in place for taking payments. Mind you the City of Wetumka states that the new system is to make it easier for the People of Wetumka in some way. I however don't think it's easier for the People of Wetumka to make payments through the system if the system is not working or is creating several problems for the People of Wetumka to use in any way. It makes me wonder why the old system gave the City of Wetumka so many problems to then switch to a new system that gives the People of Wetumka problems using it. This would also explain why City Hall was dead inside the last time I made a payment for electricity. So today I am left with making a payment to electricity to the City of Wetumka in person again and I'm going to have to hope I will not be waiting more than five minutes to get served. That also means I have to hope they will even take a payment just the Cut-off. If not then my mother and I will be evicted due to the City of Wetumka failing to understand the bill can not be paid in full all the time. I mean, after all, not everyone has $241 just lying around to pay the City of Wetumka for electricity in a two-bedroom Wetumka Housing Authority unit that is kept at 80 degrees. At this point, it would be better if everyone turned off their electricity instead of paying the City of Wetumka $241 every month for an electric bill.
Sure that would cut off most of the Revenue or better yet funding to the City of Wetumka. As it stands though the City of Wetumka doesn't seem to want people here anymore because if they did then they would find a way to keep people from leaving and not push them out in one form or another. Case in point the Wetumka Farmers Market (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093405911455). I don't know how much the City of Wetumka paid for it to be built but every time I drive by it there is nothing there. Now if you go on the Facebook page for the Wetumka Farmers Market you will see there is only one person there unless you go all the way back to June 7 the only time there was more than one person there. What worse is the fact that it's early in the morning which makes me wonder who is the Wetumka Farmers Market is really for. I guess we will see how this day goes.
You know I always thought that if the people voted for someone to be in office the elected official worked for the people and not for the money. That does not seem to be the case here in Oklahoma since every time I ask an elected official for some help I hit a brick wall. By the means of filling out forms or having to prove my case like I am on trial for something I didn't do. Case in point I asked Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond for some help about the City of Wetumka forcing people to go online or through an Automated PBX system to pay their utility bill. All The Oklahoma Attorney General did was forward the complaint to the City of Wetumka. The City of Wetumka then sent a reply back saying something along the lines of that's not true and the online and the Automated PBX system was there to make it easier for people to pay when they can. This translates to if you don't want to go online or go through an Automated PBX system you have to come in and wait for the next three to five minutes for someone to get to you to take your payment. Why is that well that's because the City Hall is dead and no one is paying attention to whether any customers are waiting for service.
Then I thought if they are doing it for the money and not for the people I would do a Google search to find out how much Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond makes. Sure enough, ballotpedia.org was the first resolt and it states that Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond makes $132,825 for the 2022 FY Budget of $26,057,969. I dug a little deeper in that Google search and found “2022 Oklahoma Statutes Title 74. State Government §74-250.4. State officers – Salaries” and it goes into so much more detail about who gets paid what.
It turns out that some elected officials are being paid as follows (https://law.justia.com/codes/oklahoma/2022/title-74/section-74-250-4/):
- The Governor makes $147,000.00
- The Lieutenant Governor makes $114,713.00
- The Attorney General makes $132,825.00
- The State Superintendent of Public Instruction makes $124,373.00
- Each member of the Corporation Commission makes $114,713.00
- The State Treasurer makes $114,713.00
- The State Auditor and Inspector make $114,713.00
- The State Insurance Commissioner makes $114,713.00)
- The Commissioner of Labor makes $105,053.00
This would explain a couple of things or at the very least why the people of Oklahoma as a whole get ignored by the elected officials. I am sure if I did more digging I could find how much the Oklahoma State Representatives make but I think I made my point clear at the point. For those that don't understand the point I trying to make well it's not to ask an elected official to address an issue be it on the local, state, or federal level because all they care about is the money and power they have. This means the people of Oklahoma need to find a way to take some of that money and power back from the elected officials until they start working for the people who voted for them.
Well, I decided to look at our electric bill since they sent out a notice of a rate increase. What I found was odd after doing some math. For one they state the rate before the rate increase is $0.110 or just $0.11 if you happen to be an IT Guy like me. That would mean that the bills we get would be cheaper but it's not. Let me explain if the rate was truly $0.11 then if someone used 1324 KWS it would be $145.64, not $193.90 just for electricity. Now if you add the fuel adjustment rate of $0.027840 that is stated on the bill then the rate would be $0.13784. Now if we do the math with this rate again if someone used 1324 KWS it would make just electric $182.50016 or $182.50 if we round it to the right place. Again that is not $193.90 so what is going on here? Well if you would like to know the rate of the bill in question which is just electric in this case you would take the price of electric / electric used = true rate. That means if you get charged 193.9 and you only used 1324 KWS your rate is 0.1464501510574018 if you don't round it off.
Now that means they're already charging over the $0.131 they stated in the notice due to the fuel adjustment rate they said nothing about in the notice. Mind you this is only for electricity so it's not including trash, utility Improvement, or taxes. I can only imagine how the water rates are right now since I live in low-income housing that takes care of water but my math is sound. That means to figure your true water rate it would be the same as the price of water / water used = true rate. Now I wonder when the People of Wetumka are going to start questioning the City of Wetumka for their questionable actions. What sucks is the fact it took me 14 years to see that the City of Wetumka is doing rather questionable things to make me want to move out of the City Limits somehow. I think it will be only a matter of time before Wetumka Oklahoma will cease to exist in one form or another due to everyone leaving for better a local government.
Well, since the Oklahoma State Fair is coming up in the next two weeks I just thought I would give my take on whether it's still worth going in this day in age. To me, it's not and has been that way since they went from A&W Root Beer to Mug Root Beer. The Oklahoma State Fair is about a fourth of its size since the time I started going on and off when I was about 15 or 16. The people who direct traffic in the so-called parking areas have always seemed to not understand that they need better communication because after a while they will either knowingly or unknowingly direct you out of the so-called parking areas. That in turn makes some people not want to go to the Oklahoma State Fair as they will most likely be told to go home even though there is parking available just not known to the people who direct traffic in the so-called parking areas due to the lack of communication. What's even more disappointing is the fact that it has a $23 to $25 price tag that didn't come down with the size of the Oklahoma State Fair shrinking size. Now I'm not saying don't go as they need to pay all the TSA-like guards at the gates and the police security guards roaming around to make a lovely gun-free zone for all the scammers they let in be it vendors like OMG TV or someone going around slipping on a bracelet and demanding $20 or more and will not take it back if you do want it.
Now I remember when it was worth going. I remember when it was cool to see the Space Needle before even getting close to the gates. I remember getting my little jug of A&W Root Beer and calling that my tradition of saying I went to the Oklahoma State Fair. I remember when it would take about two or three days for my mother to go through all the buildings because she wanted to go through them all. I even remember the monorail that used to be at the Oklahoma State Fair. All of that is gone and most likely never comes back since it most likely didn't make the Oklahoma State Fair enough money or better yet they just don't care anymore about the people that go to the Oklahoma State Fair. One thing that has not changed however is how Oklahoma people treat other Oklahoma people if they are in scooters and that's to treat them like they do not exist in any way, shape, or form. That means if you truly want to see the Oklahoma Standard just go to the Oklahoma State Fair and you will see it first hand.
Now I think a good way to fix these issues would be to first put a system in place so the people who are directing traffic in the so-called parking areas have better communications with each other to know when and if their parking area is truly full or not. Next would be to try to screen at least the vendors better so potential scam vendors will be least likely to able to scam the people that come to the Oklahoma State Fair with questionable products. It would also be nice if the price tag came down since the Oklahoma State Fair did shrink. I know that I don't want to feel like I'm going through an airport security checkpoint or better yet feel like I'm going into a DOC Facility to visit an Inmate but then again some people like that feeling. One more thing it would be nice if the food vendors didn't look like they're being forced to charge high prices for the food they are selling. I guess the last thing that comes to mind is to swap out some of the paid parking with more handicapped parking since the last two times my mother and I went to the Oklahoma State Fair we were told that the handicapped parking was full. Anyway don't have too much fun or at least just not to.
When did it become normal to glorify shootings? Better yet when did it become okay for any news station to report on things without knowing all the facts more so if the shooter had not been caught? For me, it would make more sense if the shooter had not been caught to limit the news coverage to about 15 to 30 minutes for the first segment of the shooting and max 15 minutes for updates Any more than that you are just glorifying the shooting. Why limit the news coverage to so little time? Well, that's so the shooter will not think he/she has been made famous. Shooters are like actors that want to be famous for what they have done. That means when a news station makes hours-long days coverage of a shooting that shows the shooter that he/she had become famous like he/she wanted. That in turn makes the shooter want to try bigger and better targets preferably bigger soft targets.
Now what do I mean by soft targets? Well if you do a Google search for soft targets you might come across a definition that is as follows “A “soft target” is a person, thing, or location that is easily accessible to the general public and relatively unprotected, making it vulnerable to military or terrorist attack, or to crimes such as mass shootings. By contrast, a “hard target” is heavily defended or not accessible to the general public” according to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_target). Now this definition is spot on when it includes relatively unprotected which means “Gun-Free Zones”. What is odd is the so-called “Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990” according to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun-Free_School_Zones_Act_of_1990) states the following “The Gun-Free School Zones Act (GFSZA) is an act of the U.S. Congress prohibiting any unauthorized individual from knowingly possessing a loaded or unsecured firearm at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone as defined by 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(25)”. Now you will notice it didn't state unloaded or secured firearms just loaded or unsecured firearms. Another odd thing is the so-called “Gun-Free Schools Act of 1994” According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun-Free_Schools_Act_of_1994) states “In 1994, Congress introduced the Gun-Free Schools Act of 1994, which encouraged each state receiving federal funds for education to follow suit and introduce their own laws, now known as zero tolerance laws.[2] President Bill Clinton signed the Gun-Free Schools Act of 1994 into law on March 31, 1994”. That would suggest the real reason why Gun-Free School Zones exist is to hold the money from the schools that don't comply with the federal government's demands. I say that time and time again, more shootings happen in Gun-Free Zones than anywhere else in the world. Now I'm sure if one does a Google search you will find the states with the toughest gun laws have the most Gun Death Rate per 100,000. That means with the tough gun laws you get more death. That also means with more Gun-Free Zones you get more death. let's in turn require everyone to take a weapon safety class and train with a weapon so it might slow down or stop people in the US from killing each other.
Now let's talk security in so-called Gun-Free Zones. There needs to be two guards on both sides of every door going in and out of the so-called Gun-Free Zone. The so-called Gun-Free Zone needs to have several guards running the perimeter at a minimum 30-second intervals. All IDs must be checked regardless of who they are. All equipment required to complete anything in the so-called Gun-Free Zone needs to be issued and returned when leaving the so-called Gun-Free Zone. That means if it is a school then the school needs to issue all school supplies when the kids come to school and be returned to the school when the kids leave. All parents need to have their ID scanned into a system that is maintained by the school so when they come to get their kid the school would know when and who pick them up. All school lunches need to be free and provided to all kids if the so-called Gun-Free Zone happens to be a school. If people bring in bags they need to be checked constantly and at random intervals. I could keep going but I think you get my point.
Well, I think it's time to bring up another questionable action of the City of Wetumka. That happens to be the fact that the City of Wetumka fails to understand that if the Wetumka Housing Authority has to evict people from their units due to the slightest damage to their lawns that could or would make Wetumka Housing Authority look bad. Why would the Wetumka Housing Authority evict people from their units due to the slightest damage to their lawns you ask? Well, that's because the Wetumka Housing Authority gets most of its funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD sends inspectors every year or so to inspect each unit in most cases. They also inspect the lawns of the units and the vehicles that belong to the people renting the units. What would affect not only the person renting the unit but also the Wetumka Housing Authority is the maintenance of the unit and lawns regardless of who did the damage. That means if the small 6-wheel vehicle that the City of Wetumka used yesterday left any damage behind it would affect not only the person renting the unit but also the Wetumka Housing Authority if the damage was not addressed before the inspector came to inspect the Wetumka Housing. If I'm not mistaken the Wetumka Housing Authority has asked the City of Wetumka not to drive on the lawns of the Wetumka Housing Authority unit for that reason. As I said before they seem to be ignoring such requests.
One more questionable thing the City of Wetumka fails to understand is how are the people of Wetumka expected to take the City of Wetumka seriously if it does not follow own its laws. What I mean is if the City of Wetumka expects the people of Wetumka to take them seriously then the City of Wetumka needs to start cutting their own grass. That means lots like the one on the corner of West Francis Street and North Canadian Street need to stop being allowed to grow five to six feet high before they get attended to. If the people of Wetumka let their grass grow that tall they would most likely get cited, fined, then changed by the City of Wetumka if the City of Wetumka mowed the lawn. I guess that's the advantage of being the City of Wetumka as they can just ignore their own laws all while enforcing them on the people of Wetumka.
