Well, I finally have some time to do some writing. Today I thought I would tell you about the Oklahoma City State Fair. At least The way I saw it this year anyway. Let's first go over what was stated by News 9 about the changes that were made. They stated that there were to be more security be it Oklahoma City or Park security. They then go into how everything will be searched. Lastly, they stated that Weapons and Electronics would not be permitted in the Oklahoma City State Fair. Oh, I almost forgot that they stated anyone under 25 would have to leave after 5:00 PM.
Now let's go into what really happened at the Oklahoma City State Fair. Well for one that didn't do and searching through anything. All they did was ask my mother to open her purse and for me to empty my pockets. When it came to more security by the means of more police and added security towers that didn't happen either. Mind you they never had any security towers and to only see one when they said they would be throughout the Fair is questionable. Hell, I didn't see any more security than last year because if there was then they would have catch people parking where there were no parking spots just outside of the park. Some people were clearly under 25 and not being told to leave. It's enough to make one wonder what is going on. Then I had to keep reminding myself that I Emailed the Oklahoma City State Fair about the changes and how they are rather questionable.
The sad part is I remember what the Oklahoma City State Fair used to be like before it changed. I remember that it used to be at least three times bigger. I remember it used to take two to three days to go through all the building which is what my mother would always want to do. I remember that once I got my A&W Root Beer and Corn Dog I didn't need to go back until next year. All of that made it worth the time and money to go to the Oklahoma City State Fair. Right now however it's not worth going even if they manage to bring back most of the magic. Only time will tell how long the Oklahoma City State Fair will keep going before it dies.
