There are times when I have to show how detailed I can get as my mother's Caregiver. The first case in point is the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) when it comes to reapplying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or what is known by most people as Food Stamps. When it comes to OKDHS, I would have to fight with them when it comes to Income. That would be me having to tell OKDHS that if I didn't give them a copy of invoices for a particular month, then I did not get any work for that month. Then, when it came to the Wetumka Housing Authority telling me that my services were no longer required, it became more of a fight with OKDHS when it came to income. This time, however, I decided to send the OKDHS reports from the budget software I use called Firefly III. Unsurprisingly, they called the house, but instead of having to fight with them about Income, I had to explain all of the Income sources. It even shocked me that they would compliment how organized all the data was. They still didn't completely look at all the data like normal, but the fact they actually looked at it at all was, again, shocking. Hell, my mother even wondered if our SNAP Cards still worked only because the OKDHS asked about it when she was on the phone with us. So she asked me to call the number on the back of the SNAP Card, and that's when I found out that not only were they still working, but we had $7 of Food Stamps in our SNAP Account. It also stated that there is a pending amount of $160 for this month. We were getting $119, so that means we gained $41 just from giving them all the information and letting them sort it out.

The second case in point is me pointing out all we did to get ready to deal with this Bed Bug Problem My mother and I are facing right now. Then have it change on us on what to do. Then, lastly, I was told that my mother and I did nothing or, better yet, made it harder than it needed to be. On top of that, be told that C & C Pest Control (the exterminators the Wetumka Housing Authority uses) was the one that bagged all the clothing in the Living Room. The problem with that is not all the bags have clothing in them. There are at least two bags that have various items in them. That's not including all the bags that are not black trash bags or even any of the boxes that are in the Living Room. Oh, and let's not forget all the black trash bags, pillows, an ottoman, or the throw rug that happens to be on the Back Porch that my mother and I are waiting for the Wetumka Housing Authority to pick up. I have decided to just start slowly putting one or two bags from the Back Porch and put them in our small trash dumpster. As for the ottoman, or the throw rug, well, put the throw rug in our trash dumpster and the ottoman to the curb, as that is all my mother and I can do with them. Neither of them will most likely be taken by the people running the trash truck, but maybe that would make the Wetumka Housing Authority understand that my mother and I needed more help than the Wetumka Housing Authority was truly willing to give. Either way, the damage is done, and this shows people like me that Housing Authorities and HUD can never be trusted to work for the people they are serving. I wonder what they would do with a $1004 invoice being sent to them to address all of these problems they caused. Only time will tell, I guess.
